I am passionate about supporting parents, teachers and leaders in inspiring youth to enjoy learning, excel academically and to flourish in life. My doctoral research investigated how learning in one cognitive domain (music) could transfer to another domain (mathematics). The significant positive transfer effects shown in my study contributed to the growing evidence regarding transfer of knowledge from one subject to another due to overlapping concepts and abilites such as pattern recognition. This awareness helps us to keep children interested and excited about learning because we can expand beyond a subject in which they have a blockage to one they find more enjoyable while simultaneously enhancing processing in the subject they might be intimidated or bored by such as mathematics.

I am dedicated to helping you integrate music, nature and/or social & emotional learning (SEL) into the curriculum, whether for your child or for your school. A plethora of peer-reviewed research has shown that including learning and engagment in these three areas greatly enhances and creates a holistic educational experience for children benefiting both their cognitive and emotional lives and even enchancing society as a whole.

With over 30 years of experience as an educator, teaching students from two to eighty-two and teaching and building programs across 5 universities, and serving for ten years as an educational leader including posts as the Dean of Psychology, Student Academic Advisor, Program Developer, Teacher Training & Academic Writing Director aas well as Head of Research in Psychology, I am inspired and well equipped to offer consultations for parents who would like to teach their children at home or for schools that would like to enhance their curriculum in alignment with international guidelines and recommendations based upon decades of research. I can help you with ideas for the creation and implementation of valuable areas often neglected in standard curricula, such as art, music, nature and social-emotional skills to the existing curricula from broader concepts and mapping to course and activity development based upon your chosen pathway and goals in the service to the cognitive and emotional heatlh of our youth.
